FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
When most people see gray hair, they see frailty and disability with low speeds and high needs. At Thrive, we see wisdom. We see laughter. We see ability. We see growth. We see potential. We see opportunity. These divergent views from tradition have created a community filled with older adults living purposeful, engaged lives. Because it’s about seizing the day, every day. It’s about finding a passion that percolates you so much that you can’t wait to get out of bed each morning to get started. At Thrive, residents engage in events and activities (whether it’s having coffee in the library or dancing) they’ve always loved, along with new friends they’ve made who love them as much as they do.
We’ve taken the blueprint for traditional senior living and put it right where it belongs—the trash can. It wasn’t hard. Traditional senior living communities stink.
With Tribute at One Loudoun, we redefined everything – starting with the terms. We don’t call Elders seniors, we call them…Elders. We don’t have a facility – around here, we refer to that as ‘the f word’. Walk in and see a group of young moms huddled in a cozy booth, coffee in hand, soaking in the parenting wisdom of one of our residents. Around a nearby table, you may see a group of young, ambitious businessmen sharing a beer with several Tribute residents who are assisting in refining a new business plan. Here your loved one has the opportunity to learn and grow, and still pursue their passions.
We’re in Loudoun County, in the middle of One Loudoun, a new town center development that is the hottest place around. Shopping, restaurants, and movie theatres are just a short walk away. The property features a gorgeous, lush terrace and a restaurant, overlooking a brand new public park next door. Relax in our bar with high-back booths or grab a coffee and relax by the fire in our bistro.
We have scheduled outings several times a week based on the Activity Calendar. We offer free transportation to Doctor's appointments within a five-mile radius.
• We offer three (3) chef-prepared meals daily/gourmet dining experience. Our meals can be customized to dietary preferences and restrictions. “At mealtimes, residents gather around the table and enjoy cuisine that can only be described in one word. Mmm.”
Safety is so important. We educate and train our team members, residents, and guests to first think of how to live their best life. At Thrive we work together to support people in making choices that move them closer to feeling the joys of life. We call this process of decision making SafetyThird. It’s a unique model that focused on the human experience.
• Navigating the senior living world can be tough. There are no classes to teach you, no roadmaps to follow. Fortunately, you have us. Our goal is to make you smarter about the options you have available, based upon your loved ones needs and what’s going on after they move in.
We’ve spent the last decade carefully selecting team members who share our in our vision: a future society that will stand in awe and admiration of all older adults. People who see their mission as more than just a caretaker, but as a difference maker in the lives of those who live with us.
Yes, we are pet friendly! We have a beautiful dog park in our back yard for your fluffy friend to enjoy!
We…don’t…focus…on giving great care. That’s what everyone else says. The problem is that when you focus on great care it causes you to look at people as objects…in need of care. We really believe that bar is way too low. We have built a community where Elders can come build worthwhile, meaningful relationships with our team and new friends. We have found that great care is always the by-product of a meaningful relationship.
Our attention to detail extends to wandering residents as well. These residents are generally provided with greater supervision and security and we have team members and other caregivers that are accustomed to the impulsivity and reduced safety awareness that people with changing cognitive abilities may exhibit. The team members are trained to respectfully and humanely redirect the resident to the appropriate activity or location.
