Largest Range of Models

People who experience hearing loss have many questions about the best hearing aid for their needs. Signia offers the largest range of models. The manufacturer uses a network of authorized providers to help determine the needs of each user according to their degree of hearing loss and lifestyle, then finds the best fit and features from the Signia line of products.

In this guide, we cover the hearing aids that Signia makes, including their costs, warranties and return policies. The guide also evaluates the pros and cons of Signia devices, examines reviews from actual Signia hearing aid users, and takes an in-depth look at how the hearing aid models function.

Signia's Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Smartphone app control.  Signia features several custom-created apps compatible with different models of hearing aids, including myControl, myHearing, easyTek, touchControl and Hearing Test. These apps can complete hearing tests, enable the hearing aid to act as a remote control, change the settings on the app, or allow users to stream sounds from their favorite device. The myHearing app is a user-friendly method of controlling the device.
  • Bluetooth connectivity.  Users can connect their hearing aids to any Bluetooth-enabled device, allowing them to stream music and videos, including movies or live performances at some venues. These devices can also communicate with vehicles that feature Bluetooth technology, allowing users to hear navigation apps while in transit.
  • Rechargeable batteries.  No more forgetting to replace a hearing aid battery or needing to send the hearing aid back to the manufacturer for a battery replacement. Some devices have portable recharging kits for easier travel.
  • Own Voice Processing.  Signia devices feature excellent clarity that provides the user with natural sound, including the sound of his own voice. This may help many users feel less disconcerted when speaking.
  • Tinnitus treatment. All Signia hearing aids provide tinnitus therapy as a standard device feature.

Cons

  • Price. With these extra features and advanced technology comes a fairly hefty price tag. The high-end models cost close to $6,000, and the more basic ones are still a pricey $2,000; not every user may be able to afford a Signia device.
  • Technology. Some users may feel uncomfortable with the advanced Smart Technology used by Signia and may prefer a more basic model they feel more secure operating.
  • Only available through authorized sellers. Signia provides a personalized evaluation, but only through its approved network of sellers.

Signia's Pricing, Warranties and Return Policy

Signia offers a free 30-day trial period for all hearing aids, with complimentary adjustments for users from authorized providers. In addition, the company offers either a two-year or three-year manufacturer warranty on all 7x and 5x models (the top two tiers of each style of device) and a one-year warranty on the 3x models (the basic tier of each style). The warranties cover damage and loss of the devices and a one-time replacement device for a $300 fee. This charge covers the replacement item itself and a service visit to the user’s hearing aid specialist for a custom fitting. Individual Signia retailers may also offer their own warranty coverage, but such coverage can vary by provider and may cost extra.

How Signia's Hearing Aids Work

Styletto Nx

The Styletto Nx is designed for people with mild to moderate hearing loss and features a slim behind-the-ear fit. It resembles a Bluetooth earpiece, rather than an inner ear canal hearing device. The device combines style and function and is equipped with Signia’s latest technology.

Features:

  • Behind-the-ear fit for easy use
  • Brushed metal finish that comes in three colors
  • Rechargeable lithium battery and compact portable charging case
  • Styletto Connect, a Bluetooth streaming connection for users to connect to other devices
  • Mini pocket fob for remote control
  • myHearing and touchControl apps

Pure Nx

The Pure Nx line has four models and is designed for people with mild to profound hearing loss. Each model has a particular feature that sets it apart. The Pure Charge & Go Nx has a rechargeable lithium battery and sleek portable charging case, the Pure 13 Nx has the most powerful battery out of the four, the Pure 10 Nx comes in an extra-small size ideal for those who prioritize a tiny form factor, and the Pure 213 Nx has the most extra features.

  • 11 different colors for users to choose from
  • Own voice processing (pure 312)
  • Fully automatic functionality – no physical buttons (Pure 10)
  • Signia Xperience, motion-sensing technology that adapts the sound to changing environments (Charge & Go and 312)
  • myControl and touchControl apps
  • Pocket control fob
  • StreamLive TV transmitter & Android app
  • Noahlink Wireless programming hub

Motion Nx

Motion Nx devices work best for users who have specific fitting needs or different degrees of hearing loss in each ear. These devices have custom earpieces and come in two models; the 13 Nx is for users with mild to moderate hearing loss, and the 13p Nx fits users with severe to profound hearing loss. The Charge & Go model has a small portable charging case and is best for users who travel frequently. Signia uses technology that pairs well with iPhone devices, including apps, streaming services and navigation software. Motion Nx devices have the clearest sound quality of Signia hearing aids and include own-voice technology.

  • Pocket fob remote control
  • myControl app
  • StreamLine TV transmitter and Mic software
  • Noahlink Wireless programming hub

Silk Nx

Silk is an in-ear canal device that’s designed to be almost invisible. It’s usually ready-to-wear thanks to click sleeves that fit around the device and keep it positioned in the correct place, and it works for users with any degree of hearing loss. Silk hearing aids work well for those with single-sided deafness; CROS technology transfers sound from the more capable ear to the unaidable ear, which gives the user the sensation of hearing from both sides. Units are color-coded so that wearers can easily distinguish between the left and right buds.

  • myHearing and touchControl app
  • miniPocket control fob

Insio Nx

This model comes in four styles, each with multiple color options. The ITE, CIC, IIC and ITC styles are all made for users with mild to profound hearing loss. Both the ITE and ITC models have Bluetooth capabilities, allowing users to stream audio from any Bluetooth-enabled device straight into the hearing aid. Each pair of devices offers a custom fit, and all are in-ear models.

  • CROS/BiCROS technology allows hearing aids to communicate sound with each other
  • Binaural OneMic directionality
  • Optional Bluetooth connectivity
  • Better sound quality when the wearer is in motion
  • MiniPocket control fob
  • StreamLine Mic and TV transmitters
  • myControl and myHearing apps

What Customers Are Saying

Users remark that the quality and clarity of Signia devices allow them to hear more naturally, even in crowded or noisy environments. One user specifically reports having purchased two different models to address two types of hearing needs.

However, some users experienced difficulties with the streaming capabilities of their Bluetooth-enabled sharing devices. Other users reported similar failure of service in their devices, citing that the units were “completely dead.”

Overall, many users note the exceptional quality and clarity of sound of Signia devices, with standout features including the ability to adjust to any environment and the ability to hear their own voice. Unreliable connectivity with different devices seems to be the most common thread in negative reviews.
