We provide transportation to medical and dental appointments as well as transportation to off-site activities.
We hold monthly menu chat meetings to obtain residents preferences and welcome resident recipes and requests. We also account for individual requests such as a resident who likes hot sauce on everything!
We have a pendant/call system that includes 2 pull cords in each unit as well as a necklace or watch style pendant for each resident. The system has a GPS feature that tells the location in the building or outside on the premises. Additionally, all external doors are locked 24 hours per day to control who enters the building. Residents and family members are given the code to come and go as they please.
We post community activity pictures on our Facebook page and send out emails, texts, and pictures to family members. Changes in care plan are communicated in advance either by phone, email, or face to face meetings.
Staff to resident ratio varies depending upon our current resident care needs and acuity, but always meets state standards at a minimum.
Our community welcomes pets and, in addition to their apartment area, they can enjoy other common areas of the building (excluding kitchen & dining area) and our enclosed courtyard so long as they are leashed and/or supervised.
Brookdale provides monthly training topics for ongoing senior care training. We also offer monthly safety training, and specific topic trainings during monthly staff meetings.
When residents enter our community we institute 1 hour safety checks for a minimum of 3-7 days to keep a close eye on them as we get to know them and they get to know our community. Because we are not a MC community, if there are safety concerns related to wandering, we may not be the best fit for them (prior to admission or after) and therefore we will assist the family in finding a more appropriate community.
