Research shows that stimulating different parts of the brain during certain times of the day is most beneficial for the resident with dementia. We think it is important to engage the resident as a whole person and utilize creative expressions such as art and music, cognitive stimulation, social gatherings, and spiritual activities. We utilize person-centered care to engage residents in reminiscing, including personalized stations and kits that focus on resident occupation, hobbies, and interests.
