FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
The average age of our Residents is 65. Our Residents favorite things to do is go are going on outings, enjoying a glass of wine/beer at our bar, playing bingo, bidding at our peanut auctions, and having fun getting exercise with Music and Movement.
There are a variety of activities offered daily to keep residents engaged. Our programming is based on the 6 dimensions of wellness (Cognitive, Emotional, Spiritual, Physical, Social & Occupational) and therefore we offer a minimum of 6-7 activities every day of the week (Even on the weekends) that encompass these dimensions.
Lake Joy is located in a mostly residential area, surrounded by neighborhoods. We are close to a Fire Station and also a local Elementary School.
Lake Joy offers transportation within a 10 mile radius to doctor's appointments every Thursday. We also offer transportation to outings weekly including outings to restaurants and activities.
Lake Joy has a dietician planned menu that is carb consistent. The Dining Director also meets with our residents weekly as a part of our Recipe Club to get their feedback on meal planning suggestions.
Lake Joy has a nursing call system in place on our Assisted Living side. Each resident bathroom is also equipped with a safety pullcord should additional assistance be required by our Care team. Lake Joy provides sensors on all doors and locks with codes to exit or enter the facility.
Lake Joy meets with families and our residents every 6 months to discuss plans for care for their loved one. Directors are also always readily available to provide updates to family when visiting the building.
Lake Joy staffs 1 Caregiver and 1 Medication Technician during daytime hours. During nighttime hours, the Medication Technician normally covers the building and 1 Caregiver is still assigned.
Lake Joy's Assisted Living side is pet friendly. The only area that we asked for pets not to be brought into is our Dining Room.
All staff is required to attend an orientation at the beginning of employment to a variety of topics including providing assistance to both our Assisted Living and Memory Care population.
Lake Joy has sensors on exterior doors to notify our Caregivers of use within the community on our Nursecall system.
