FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
Regular department-specific and monthly training (all-staff) meetings are held to keep policies, procedures and training fresh.
Residents at Clarendale average in age from 65+, with most in their mid-80's. Favorite things include outings, live entertainment, enjoying the pub, cooking demos and more.
Concierge is staffed 8am-8pm daily, and the residents and families have activated FOB's to get into the community outside those hours. Guests are required to sign in and out, so we know who is coming and going.
Ratios are dependent on the resident population and needs since our care plans are developed around physician orders and resident's desires. Clarendale of Mokena staffs beyond state-required minimums and includes a nurse on-site 24/7 for additional measures and decision-making.
Most of the pets enjoy the privacy of their own home, yet especially for dogs that like to walk, our scenic location with walking paths, park benches and a pond make our location ideal for those that still enjoy the outdoors with their pets. In 2018, Clarendale of Mokena also added on a "dog park" on the west side of the property as an enclosed outdoor area with benches and trashcans so they can run freely!
Because our residents have a voice (monthly town hall meetings) in the community's planning, activities change monthly and seasonally and have included Orchard outings, Cooper's Hawk, haunted houses and more!
Staff receives additional training above and beyond state regulation guidelines to include Heartfelt Connections and Virtual Dementia Tours. This helps in both the emotional empathy and the practical side of care in dealing with agitation and engaging the resident who is capable of few or many things.
Each family has their own expectations of wanting consistent updates, just as each resident may have a varying amount of independence or care to still handle things on their own. These conversations are covered before the resident moves in, and typically the POA receives the most interaction initiated by our staff, with ongoing updates especially as we continue to monitor changes in health and capabilities monthly and quarterly.
Residents at Clarendale of Mokena can enjoy the common areas and planned events of the community, and also enjoy the included amenities of the fitness center, pub, on-site therapy, club room/library and bistro.
Residents can expect exquisite restaurant-style dining with full menu choices that rotate monthly, as well as the "always available" staple items such as eggs or a hamburger or chicken salad sandwich. Flexible dining is a huge plus and it allows the residents freedom of choice in the planning of their day.

Independent Residents have access to lab work and x-rays to be completed and can have freedom of choice with Home Health or visiting physicians who make rounds.
