Staff receives training upon hire and monthly in-services thereafter. We train utilizing instruction from the Alzheimer's Association, in combination with The Best Friends Approach and Teepa Snow's "Accepting the Challenge".

Our entire program revolves around meaningful activities. We plan activities in 15-30 minute increments and includes an array of sensory stimulation, reminiscence, physical exercise, thinking/recall through games and trivia, music and spiritual activities, to name a few.

Our Resident Service Director performs "Functional Needs Assessments" prior to and upon admission, 30-day after admission and annually. We would also re-assess upon resident change in status, hospitalizations, etc. to make sure our plan is always individual to the resident's need(s).

We begin by establishing an open-door communication culture. We allow our families to choose the best route of communication for them, whether it be a personal phone call, text or email. And of course, changes in residents status are communicated immediately.

All meals are staff monitored to ensure and promote an optimal dining experience. We use adaptive measures as needed and specific to the resident needs, such as modified diet, modified utensils, and one on one assistance. We offer a variety of "Always Available" items and "finger-food" adjustments as necessary.
