What You Should Know About The Kensington – Hastings
Constructed in 1914, The Clarke Hotel was the premier destination for social and political events in the Hastings area for many years. Fully renovated in 1987, The Clarke was transformed into The Kensington and earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places. The Kensington is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Hastings -- just a stroll away from shopping, banks, and everybody's favorite cookie shop.
Original tiled floors, marble pillars and polished brass rails on the open staircase and upper mezzanine surround the comfortable living room with elegance. The adjoining game room walls feature ceramic brick and life-size Italian murals painted in 1916. Ornate plaster work graces the walls and vaulted ceiling of the beautiful dining room. A cozy family room the ideal place for visitors of all ages to gather, and the private dining room accommodates family lunches, club meetings and more.
New families meet each other at a special dinner, where they're introduced to Heart to Heart interactive program. Family Traditions events are planned throughout the year, such as the annual summer picnic and Christmas supper. These and other family services provide fellowship and support, as well as special occasions for loved ones to enjoy good times together.

FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
Our LIfeCycles wellness program engages memory care residents in four areas: social, intellectual, physical and spiritual. Daily and weekly routines help residents stay grounded and reassured, plus staff use daily reminiscing questions to help redirect residents and ease anxieties.
Because keeping residents active and engaged in their community is a key part of our philosophy, transportation services are extensive and available seven days a week for shopping, visiting or medical appointments.
All staff participate in ongoing training, including best practices for dementia care.
Through our signature wellness program, LifeCycles, activities are planned each day to engage and encourage wellness in four dimensions: Social, Intellectual, Physical and Spiritual.
Staff members receive certified dementia care training, including Virtual Dementia Tour, Jolene Brackey and Tepa Snow philosophies.
Mealtimes are important for wellness on so many levels. Residents are encouraged to participate in meal preparations such as simple recipes or setting the table. Staff members sit with residents during the meal, often dining alongside them, to make the experience as natural and positive as possible.
Security features include 24-hour staff and an emergency call system. Doors are secured after 8pm.
Most residents are in their early 80s and have lived in the area most of their lives. Each is unique and from different backgrounds; some are shy and others like to participate in everything. Every effort is made to help every resident enjoy doing what makes them happy. They're a friendly lot, so simple pleasures like spending time chatting over coffee after breakfast, sitting outdoors in the shade on a warm day, or going out together on the daily bus ride are a few of the most popular activities.
