The assisted living residents at Brookdale Hilton Head are active and still living a mostly independent lifestyle but need an extra hand with activities of daily living such as showers, medication, dressing assistance, etc. They are still ready and willing to take on the world.

The available activities are selected based on the interests of each senior, and are designed to be enriching and fun for the residents. Activities are scheduled around-the-clock, so your loved one will never feel bored. For example, the day might start off with a workout class at 10 am, followed by a brain-stimulating game or a round of Dominos at 10:30. Then at 11 am, residents would head off-site to a local spot for lunch. And this is all before noon! We organize plenty of special events throughout the year. These may include cookouts in the summer, Mother and Fathers’ Day buffet luncheons, annual holiday parties, Sunday dinners and a trip to the drive-in theater complete with popcorn and candy. We also encourage family and friends to participate in any of these activities.

Brookdale Hilton Head is conveniently located near the Tanger Outlets, restaurants, the library, YMCA, a Bridge Club.

Transportation is included in the monthly service rate and includes trips to medical appointments, out to eat, shopping and more.

At Brookdale, we believe dining well is part of living well. Your loved one will enjoy restaurant-style dining with chef-prepared meals in an elegant dining room. Each day features a three course meal with an appetizer, main course and dessert, along with a variety of menu options that changes daily. So your loved one won’t get bored with the food choices. Brookdales Culinary Arts Institute is a professional development program designed to enhance the food preparation and presentation skills of our dining and culinary arts team at our senior living facilities.

Entrance locks at nightfall, call pendants provided to all residents, all associates undergo a strenuous background check prior to employment.

We are committed to keeping the lines of communication open and encouraging participation of families, as agreed to by the residents. To achieve this goal we conduct personal service assessments periodically though out a residents stay and hold regularly scheduled care conference to verify that the resident is receiving the care and services that they want and need. Family members are invited to attend the care conference. Additional correspondence includes phone calls, letters and emails.

The resident to care associate ratio is above the required South Carolina regulation.

Brookdale Hilton Head is pet friendly, cat and dogs (weight limited) are welcome. The community is surrounded by plenty of yard space and side walked paths.

Our staff is extremely well-trained and highly-experienced, ensuring that they are able to properly care for our residents.. All new Brookdale associates complete the Associate Foundations orientation program prior to working with residents, which includes between 10 and 25 hours of training. Our associates also continue their education throughout the year, as they participate in monthly and annual in-service trainings.

We are not a memory care community. If an assisted living resident begins to show cognitive impairment such as memory loss and begins displaying exit seeking behaviors , we would inform the family and begin discussing transitioning to our sister Brookdale community across the street. They offer memory care and all entrances and exits are password protected.
