FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
The majority of our residents, like most other assisted living homes, are female. Average age for our residents is in the mid 80's. Our residents love sitting on our large porches to sip their morning coffee, relaxing under our gazebo, attending activities in the activity center, walking around the property on interconnected sidewalks, and socializing with other residents.
We offer a full activity program complete with social activities, monthly luncheons, live performers, bingo and games, children's theatres, and educational programs. We also have nurse talks, visiting physicians, hydration programs, and medication programs to help ensure residents' well being.
We have a lovely city park right across the street with a large pavilion. We are close to large supermarkets, restaurants, home improvement stores, and doctor's offices.
We currently only offer transportation for an additional fee but residents take advantage of city shuttles and other transportation providers.
Our dining program is centered on home-style foods that residents would have eaten at home. We offer 3 home-cooked meals a day from a dietitian-approved menu. Some substitutions are available.
All of our homes have security cameras, motion detectors, monitored fire alarms, are fully sprinklered, and have local alarms on all our doors. Residents are given a pendant they can push for emergencies and when they need individual care.
Each home of 15 residents has its own manager who frequently checks in with families on their progress and current care needs. We post activities and fun things going on in our communities on social media. We also email out important announcements as needed. We have an open door policy and admin members on site to meet with families as concerns arise.
The staff to resident ratio depends on the home. We have three types of homes: A, B, and Memory Care. Staffing levels range from a 4:1 ration in Memory care to a 7:1 ration in a Type A home during the day. During nighttime sleeping hours, we have a staff member in each home to monitor and provide assistance as needed.
We accept pets with some restrictions. Our community sits on 4 acres and has large areas for animals to play and walk-in.
Staff receive ongoing monthly training through in-services and online training.
We offer a secure memory care home for residents with dementia and who are prone to wander. This home has a large fenced outdoor area, multiple sitting areas inside the home, and has a delayed egress system to prevent elopement.
