FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
Willow Grove has a rich mix of activities that combat what we call the three plagues of the longterm care industry: Boredom, Loneliness and Lack of Purpose. Whether it is the daily scheduled events that help us to connect to each other or events that we host, each resident has the opportunity to engage and bring their unique and valuable talents to the forefront, her;ping make life great everyday.
Between visits to the facility, phone calls and emails, we are actively engaging with our residents families to communicate their needs and any information regarding their care.
Training is an ongoing focus of ours as we are heavily focused on providing the best care for our residents. Team members have 12 hours of continuing education yearly in addition to personal growth/development classes and leadership classes that focus on how their growth as a person only enhances the care and concern we are able to better serve our residents and their families.
Since we are situated in a neighborhood there are several areas to walk that provide solitude and safety. There is also a park nearby that offers areas to picnic and there are shopping centers within walking distance. Couple all of this with our own 2 acres that the facility sits on, and you have plenty of fresh air and space to stretch those legs!
We have a 14 passenger handicap accessible van that we use to take residents on drives/outings on a weekly basis. For appointment, ents we can schedule transportation with an additional fee.
Our food is home made and done with the loving care you'd want. We use fresh vegetables and fruits, making our own gluten free meals as well as diabetic friendly desserts and meals. Our menu includes a wife variety of different fares that rotate so that variety is experienced. Our experience allows us to work with those needing special diets, including ones for celiac, diabetes, and GF.
During the waking hours we have 3 dedicated caregivers here at the facility along with other certified team members that interact and engage with residents throughout the day. Overnight we have a certified caregiver to assist those who need it.
While we do not accept animals into the facility we do have therapy pets that regularly visit the residents. Additionally, we have a paved walking path around the facility as well as a manicured 2 acre parcel that has raised garden/flower beds, picnic area and shaded areas for the residents to enjoy.
Willow Grove has a diverse population with ages ranging from early 40's to late 90's. Our belief is that we are like a family where each person can learn from the other, engage generationally and create enduring bonds. With a focus on activities that bring meaning and purpose several of the residents love to Crete items that are given to others outside of Willow Grove, interact with kids who visit and even sharing of their time with other residents playing games, doing projects or just socializing. Weekly drives/outings and entertainment opportunities are some of the favorite things to do here at Willow Grove as well!
Our facility has many forms of assistance in which we use to create a safe and secure environment. We have a wireless call system each resident has access to, both on their person and in their room itself, to reach our staff when help is needed. Additionally, we have safety devices to help minimize or eliminate falls.
