FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
Our assisted living resident's are, on average, in their late 80's. They are 60 of ~600 residents on our campus.
We offer a robust calendar of events which residents from across campus are welcome to attend. Life Enrichment programming is scheduled in each level of care, so resident's can enjoy programs within their own community or across campus.
Our nine acre Nature Preserve and many campus gardens are easily accessible by sidewalk and paved trails.
Oakwood has several vehicles for group outings. Residents are responsible for their own transportation for appointments and personal outings, and our social work/clinical team is more than happy to help schedule this.
Oakwood residents have three main dining spaces to choose from, all which offer diverse menus. This includes our Garden Bistro which offers made-to-order sandwiches, a fresh salad bar, soups made from scratch daily, and grab-and-go deli items.
Each assisted living room is equipped with a call button, and residents are welcome to subscribe with a Personal Emergency Response system as needed. There is also ample oversight from our 24 hour staff.
Our assisted living community has its own dedicated social worker who is easily reached and is a valuable resource for families in regards to keeping current with a loved ones care needs. Our nursing/clinical staff is also a great resource in regards to day-to-day changes that may be observed.
In assisted living, we average 1:10 during the daytime hours and 1:15 overnight. In memory care, we average 1:5 during the daytime and 1:10 overnight.
While we do not accept cats or dogs into the apartments, we love furry visitors both indoors and outdoors as long as they are up to date on their immunizations and not disruptive to other residents or staff.
Our Director of Nursing directly oversees clinical staff training which is assigned by our Vice President of Clinical Excellence.
If we notice occasional wandering behaviors from a particular resident, they will be redirected by staff. If ongoing wandering behaviors are observed, typically clinical staff will recommend hiring an outside caregiver for direct monitoring or discuss a move into our memory care community which is a secure environment.
