FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
Our folks come from all over that is the beauty of living in Huntsville! We have transplants as well as Huntsville natives. Our residents range from early 70's to 95. Although we are licensed as an Assisted Living Community, we have several residents that live with us independently and when they need a little extra help they can get it at any time. This allows them to age in place without having to move suites. It's about seizing the day. Every day. It's about finding a passion that percolates you so much that you can't wait to get out of bed each morning to get started. At Thrive, residents engage in events and activities they've always loved, along with new friends they've made who love them as much as they do.
Thrive at Jones Farm does not have an Activities Director we have a "Director of Social Networking." Our folks can be found enjoying live music, attending painting classes, going out shopping, to the movies, or out to lunch. They have daily devotionals, weekly exercise classes and weekly happy hours! They love to make use of our gorgeous outdoor spaces with just sitting around chatting or maybe have a game of corn hole or a little putt. There are almost always a few folks socializing on our terrace or sitting around the fire-pit making smores in the evenings. We also have an active Men's Group, "The Gentleman" who you can find having coffee and donuts or going out and about on the town.
We are nestled at the base of a gorgeous mountain. With plenty of shopping and restaurants options let than a mile away. Our residents enjoy trips to Target, Khol's, 5 Guys Burgers, Chili's, Taco Mama and more.
We offer transportation for our residents to doctor's on Monday's and Wednesday's. The Thrive bus can be seen all over town talking our folks on joy rides, community events, lunches, shopping, movies and more! Come take a ride with us!
At meal times, they gather around the table and enjoy cuisine that can only be described in one word: Mmm. Thrive offer's home-cooked restaurant-style dining with tableside service. Since residents have the choice of sitting where and with whom they would like, meal times are social times for most of them. It provides a great opportunity for residents to get to know their neighbors better. We love to host, parties, other events and special meals around the holidays. During these times, great care and preparation go into making sure that the food is healthy and nutritious. Our Private Dining Room can also be reserved for special occasions, birthdays, holidays or just a family get together.
All of our suites have emergency pull cords, and residents are typically given emergency call pendants to wear so they can call a team member if they fall or have a problem.
We have our visitors check in before they’re allowed in the building as well. We ask our Residents to check out and back in also, just so we are aware. All of our team undergo background checks.
We believe that communication is key! We keep our families informed about their loved ones through whatever means works best for them. Some of our families like to communicate through meetings, others prefer texting, e-mails, or phone calls. Our families are invited to join their loved ones for meals, activities, and visit anytime! We keep our families up to date on community news and photos through our monthly "Inside Thrive at Jones Farm" newsletter as well as our secret Facebook family page that is updated daily with the schedule of events for the day.
We staff according to State Regulations.
We love our pets here! The folks who live here and have pets take care of them independently. But, it’s everyone’s “job” to love them! Whether you have a pet or just enjoy having a visit from a family member or friend with one, you can take them for a walk around our community or enjoy our beautiful outdoor areas. We also have Therapy dogs that come in and spend time with all of our residents.
All of our team members are NIDE (National Institute for Dementia Education) certified which simply means that our team members are prepared and dedicated to interacting with your loved one as a unique human being, not a case study.
We have our Concierge at the desk to meet any guests coming in and they also can see who may be walking out! After hours the doors are closed and you have to use your key fob to get in or out. Our team is also looking for residents if they don't see them for a while!
