Residents can expect exquisite restaurant-style dining with full menu choices that rotate monthly, as well as the "always available" staple items such as eggs or a hamburger or chicken salad sandwich. Flexible dining is a huge plus and it allows the residents freedom of choice in the planning of their day.
Concierge is staffed 8am-8pm daily, and the residents and families have activated FOB's to get into the community outside those hours. Guests are required to sign in and out, so we know who is coming and going.
Each family has their own expectations of wanting consistent updates, just as each resident may have a varying amount of independence or care to still handle things on their own. These conversations are covered before the resident moves in, and typically the POA receives the most interaction initiated by our staff, with ongoing updates especially as we continue to monitor changes in health and capabilities monthly and quarterly.
Ratios are dependent on the resident population and needs since our care plans are developed around physician orders and resident's desires. Clarendale of Mokena staffs beyond state-required minimums and includes a nurse on-site 24/7 for additional measures and decision-making.
Most of the pets enjoy the privacy of their own home, yet especially for dogs that like to walk, our scenic location with walking paths, park benches and a pond make our location ideal for those that still enjoy the outdoors with their pets. In 2018, Clarendale of Mokena also added on a "dog park" on the west side of the property as an enclosed outdoor area with benches and trashcans so they can run freely!
Regular department-specific and monthly training (all-staff) meetings are held to keep policies, procedures and training fresh.
