FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
Our entire team here is required to stay up to date on all trainings and we complete new trainings monthly.
The average age of our residents is 85. A popular pastime here at Meridian at Boca is enjoying live music in our bistro and bar area.
We are pet-friendly here and we have grassy areas for our fur friends to walk around and we offer a pet station as well.
We have a new concept here that sets us apart from our competition, and that is: we are "blended", meaning we have residents here who are Supportive Independent Living and residents that are Assisted Care. So, our ratio here is based on personal needs. If a resident requires care they will have their own personalized care. We feel this blended concept makes it better for the long term as someone would not need to move again as care needs arise.
Our Chef is culinary trained and she makes everything in house. Our chef is creative in the kitchen and creates meals that are seasonal and delicious.
We offer an array of activities here such as: daily exercise classes, lectures, arts, and movies in our state of the art theater among many other activities.
We have a monthly calendar that is both passed out to our residents and available on our website. We also keep our Facebook page updates with events and photos of the memories we make here. And we offer a Family Night in The Community every quarter.
We offer a Specialized Memory Care for those residents that need more oversight.
We give residents a warm washcloth that has a touch of essential oils on it; this is used to cleanse their hands while creating a routine to get our residents ready for mealtime. We also offer demonstration dishes for those residents that do well with a visual menu.
Our team is required to take monthly trainings on all of the latest techniques to benefit our residents.
Prior to a new resident moving in; one of our nurses completes a nursing evaluation. After a resident moves in we re-evaluate each resident every 30 days to be sure we are on top of each residents' care needs.
We are in close proximity to an abundance of shops, restaurants, the post office and the Boca Town Center Mall.
All residents are given a pendant to wear that has GPS built into it. This pendant can be used 24/7 to receive assistance of all kinds.
We have great communication here and both our nursing team and our Director of Memory Care do a great job of keeping our families informed or any news or events. We also send photos to the family as well as post on our community FaceBook Page.
We have a driver with personalized transportation services and a shuttle bus that is used for group outings to places of interest.
We have close ties to all local hospitals and our residents have the choice to use whichever hospital they prefer but for convenience, we are about 5 minutes away from West Boca Medical Center.
The Meridian at Boca Raton is situated in a beautiful residential neighborhood that makes our community feel warm and safe. We are located on a tree-lined street with green all around us.
Our Memory Care follows a Program we call Montessori-based Moments in Time. This program was designed to capture our residents' special moments as well as validate and allow purposeful meaning.
Our Memory Care ratio is 8:1 during the day plus 3-4 nurses as well. During the night we have 2-3 caregivers and 1 nurse on the floor.
