FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
MorningStar Boise provides transportation 7 days a week, from approximately 8:30am to 5pm. All requests must be made in writing, at least two days in advance. We cover Boise, Garden City, Eagle and Meridian.
We staff based on acuity and care needs, of our Residents. Our Care Team includes an RN, Wellness Director, 3 LPN'S, two Coordinators, Med Techs, CNA's and care staff. One to three Nurses are here every day and one is on call overnight. Care Staff and Med Techs 24/7.
As stated in the Assisted Living Section, our Chef has been here over 4 years and is constantly seeking new recipes and methods to provide a variety of menus for our Residents. He holds a monthly meeting with the Residents to solicit feedback and suggestions on our Culinary program.
Our Independent Residents range in age from 62 to 101! As with their ages, their interests vary as well. That said, they enjoy everything from ukulele lessons, Bible Studies, live entertainment, crafts, Educational Seminars, Board and Card games, Bingo!, Trivia, Pet Therapy, Exercise and participate in Writing and Book Club groups. We venture out into the community every chance we get! We enjoy Theater at a variety of venues in the Treasure Valley, Shopping (Walmart, Fred Meyers, The Mall, Barnes & Nobles, Thrift Stores, Dollar Tree, Target.....), Museums, The Boise Zoo, Wine Tasting, Idaho State Fair, Lavender Festival and many seasonal events.
St. Al's Festival of Trees, Birds of Prey, Boise Art Museum, Morrison Center Events, Dining out at a variety of restaurants throughout the year, shopping at Trader Joe's, Christmas Concerts, Tour of Idaho State Capitol Building.
Our Life Enrichment Team offers a tremendous variety of activities to engage our Residents. Our Monthly Calendar is posted on our website. Within the community, we offer painting classes, lots of live music, bible studies, support groups, exercise classes, crafts, movies, games of all kinds, trivia games, walking group, book club meetings, Genealogy Educational Meetings, Music History classes, prayer groups, faith services and pet therapy!
We are ideally located between Boise, Garden City, Meridian and Eagle. The West YMCA is a 5 minute ride away, shopping, restaurants and other conveniences are all within 5-8 miles of our community.
Our Care Team complies with the state requirements for continuing education. Additionally, they take a monthly on-line course to meet MorningStar Standards.
We are not a Memory Care Community. If a Resident is a danger, or is known to wander, we take a number of steps, depending on the individual situation. We may require family to provide additional companionship from an outside agency.
MorningStar Boise is located in a residential area. We offer transportation 7 days a week to ensure our residents get to where they need to go!
Our Independent Residents are responsible for their own medical and personal care. We can recommend Home Health and Home Care agencies, but it is their responsibility to coordinate their own care.
As mentioned in the Assisted Living Section, we have staff 24/7 at the Concierge Desk. We also have Security Cameras at all entrances to the building.
As mentioned earlier, we offer transportation 7 days a week. Our Assisted Living Coordinator takes care of the logistics and scheduling of transportation needs of our AL Residents.
The entire building is our Residents' Home! We have two libraries, a Bistro, Lobby/Living Room, two Dining Rooms, Exercise Room, Theater Room and a Market Place. (Small store and coffee area.) We also have a common sitting area on the second floor, complete with a variety of coffee table books and puzzle tables.
We do not allow pets in our Assisted Living Community.
We are staffed 24/7, both in our Care Team and at our Concierge Desk. We have Security Cameras at all doors throughout the Community. Front Doors are locked at Sunset each night and guests are buzzed in by our Concierge Desk Team Members.
Independent Residents are welcome to have cats or dogs, under 25 lbs. They are fully responsible for their care. They can stay in their apartment and the individual patios or balconies. If the dogs are brought into the common areas or outside to our Courtyard, they must be on a leash. Dogs are not allowed in the dining rooms.
Our Executive Chef has been here over 4 years. He and his team provide a variety of menus on a daily basis, including home made soups, fresh salads, a variety of meats, poultry and pork, fresh vegetables and home made desserts!
Our Team holds Care Conferences with each Resident and Family members several times a year, based on their individual conditions. Additionally, the Wellness Director, Nurses and Administrator are in constant contact with AL families as events and conditions change.
We support approximately 75 to 85 Residents in our Assisted Living Community. Ages range from 62 to 103! As with our Independent Living Residents, our Assisted Living Residents come from a wide variety of backgrounds and professions.
