FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
Resident at Brookdale Painted Post vary in age, but most are in their 80s-90s. Our Resident Programs Manager, Sarah (7 yrs on our team), created the Gardening Club that transformed the courtyard into a resource for fresh veggies used in Chef Pam's recipes. The Veteran's Chatterbox Club (Saturdays at 2pm) gives vets an chance to share war stories, enjoy camaraderie, have a beer and share experiences to feel a sense of community. Sarah asks for new recipes during monthly cooking club which are tested out and the resident gets to decide if we made the grade!
Our Brookdale shuttles takes residents to shopping and appointments on a regular basis. As well, we enjoy country rides from time to time just to take in the beautiful NY scenery!
Through our Creating a Resident Experience 90-day orientation, we help families and residents become acclimated to a new environment and work together to make their transition to senior living as smooth as possible. Through ongoing care plan meeting and new health assessments every 6 months, our Health & Wellness Director and Executive Director communicate with families at every turn. Daily, our Health & Wellness Coordinator ensures information is communicated and plans are accurate to provide the best care possible.
All of our apartments are handicap accessible and our trained care staff is on site 24/7. There are two emergency pull cords in each apartment and routine safety checks by our associates. RN and LPNs are onsite 16/hrs/day and on-call.
We make sure there's lots to do at Brookdale Painted Post! For example, residents enjoy the Lima Bean Auction, Cooking Club, hand massages and manicures, happy hour, men's/women's luncheons, and church services.
Chef Pam's has 10 yrs experience at Brookdale and makes spinach squares every 2 months in honor of a former resident. Our community is unique in that there are two dining rooms, making is easy and convenient for residents to walk to. Plus, the flexible dining schedule allows for two seatings so residents can dine at their leisure.
Monthly inservice training is required of all of our staff, covering various topics relating to the health and safety of our residents.
We are not equipped with safety measures for those who wander.
Corning Museum of Glass, Watkins Glen, the Finger Lakes, Rockwell Museum.
During the day, our RN is onsite (5 days/week, business hours). Our LPNs cover 16 hours/day and our trained caregivers are in place 24/7.
We love having pets here! Small dogs and cats are always welcome. There is outdoor space close by and courtyards for your furry friend to enjoy.
