Pot holes in the driveway. People always have COVID. People almost die here because they forget to give medicine.

FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
Elderwood has a van and a bus to transport residents on local outings.
Elderwood currently provides a wander guard system that alerts staff when a resident is approaching the vicinity of a exit.
Our assisted living building is in the heart of a very nice and quiet residential neighborhood.
A registered nurse is on site forty hours a week as well as LPNs who work all three shifts. At least two direct care staff are on duty on the overnight shift.
Residents may bring a cat to live here with them. Friends, families and staff are encouraged to bring their dogs to visit. There is plenty of lawn area to walk animals on lead.
Elderwood offers a great variety of programming on site. Musicians entertain on a regular basis including a harpist, a local historian who gives presentations on historic monuments and architecture, exercise classes, crafts, and outings to restaurants and local shopping centers. THe residents also run their own resident council along with a separate food committee and both meet monthly. Soon, our facility will be happy to host in their dining room the Waverly Senior Citizens Group which plans on having their luncheon here once a month. This will be a great opportunity for our residents to stay socially engaged with peers from the local community.
Dining offers and exceptional menu and breakfasts are made to order! Residents play a main role in dining services via the food committee which is made up of residents who meet with dining director and assistant director each month to discuss things such as new options.
Any change in condition or concern is made immediately known to family members by a direct care staff member.
Our resident's average age is in the mid-to-lower eighties. Some favorite things to do are engaging in programing offered by the facilities wellness leader. We have residents who enjoy participating in group activities whereas others enjoy working on their iPads or other technical devices.
Elderwood offers an exceptional array of continuing education for all staff. Staff are encouraged to participate in continuing education and seminars.
We staff our facility 24 hours a day and seven days a week with direct care staff including NYS certified Home Health Aids, NYS licensed LPNs, a registered nurse and a social worker. Maintenance is on-call 24/7 as well as the administrator/care manager. There is a closed circuit camera security system which monitors entrances and common areas. Doors lock at an early evening hour and entering and exiting is monitored by the Secure Care System which is a paneled alarm system.
