Kerner Ridge has a designated memory care life enrichment director that designs an activity schedule. Activities range from arts and crafts to baking to music to listening to performers.
Residents at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living enjoy activities hosted by our full time activity director. They love to bake, make crafts, plant a garden, exercise, go out for joy rides and more! A favorite is when local entertainers come in and perform for the residents. Our average age is 86.
Communication is key to quality care at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living. Families can expect a personal call from our leadership staff if there is an emergency situation. To keep families updated on a regular basis we communicate via email and check in when family members stop by for a visit. Our executive director send emails to families to update them on important changes.
Staff are in the dining room with residents during meal time. We can provide additional support to residents who need more assistance with eating as needed.
We always have one med tech and two CNAs in our memory care.
Residents who wander find comfort and the appropriate care in our secured memory care unit. Our assisted living area is not locked but all of our doors have alarms that alert staff when a resident goes outside.
Kerner Ridge Assisted Living works closely with our major local hospitals. Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center is ten minutes from our building. Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center and Wake Forest Baptist Health are within 20 minutes of our building.
Families have the opportunity to meet with our nursing staff each quarter for updated care plan meetings. We pride ourselves on our communication to family members. In case of an emergency or a change in care needs, we contact the family immediately.
Kerner Ridge Assisted Living welcomes all members of the family with a one time $350 pet deposit. Residents are required to maintain the care of their own animal. Our community has a beautiful lawn area that residents can walk their pet in.
The chef at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living takes pride in offering a wide variety of delicious options for residents to enjoy. We can accommodate any type of special diet ordered by a physician. Each day residents receive a menu that they can choose from. The options range from savory chicken enchiladas to classic pot roast and vegetables. Don't forget about dessert....residents love our chef's strawberry shortcake or homemade banana pudding.
The staff at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living can provide transportation to local doctor's appointments for residents at no additional cost.
Upon admission, the community's nurse will assess the resident. That assessment is updated quarterly but can be updated in case of a change in care needs.
Loved ones can rest assured that safety is our number one priority at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living. We are staffed 24/7 with Med-Techs and CNAs. We have a full time RN and LPN to oversee the clinical staff and care plans. Each resident's room is equipped with a pull cord in the bedroom and the bathroom. Residents can count on regular safety checks from the clinical staff based on their individual level of care.
