Brooklyn Pointe provides assisted living and memory care services with an attentive team that strives to keep residents active. From move-in assistance to help with activities of daily living, such as medication management and toileting, caregivers are always on hand to assist residents. Each apartment is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, cable TV service and the option for Wi-Fi so that residents have what they need readily available. An emergency call system and walk-in showers help protect seniors while they are at home. Restaurant-style dining, served in a community dining room, provides healthy meals for community members, while an on-site library, lounge and multipurpose room provide spaces for activities throughout the day. There is a spa and beauty salon for personal care and relaxation needs as well. Organized activities and community outings provide opportunities for residents to stay active and engaged.

FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
Brooklyn Pointe has AL and MC residents. Overall, the residents are very active, love to go out to eat, shop, and have entertainment come in the community. The average age is late 70's/early 80's. They love good food, to socialize and enjoy each other. Themed happy hour is a big hit, from Jimmy Buffett, Elvis' blue suede shoes, with strawberry daiquiris and pina coladas.
Several programs are offered at Brooklyn Pointe for the residents and families. Garden and planting parties, using herbs the residents' planted for anytime dining from our own greenhouse, local author book signings, chair yoga, tai chi, lunch outings, movies and popcorn, outdoor grilling and summer fun games in the courtyard, sock hops and dances, and so much more.
Marc's grocery store, Lowe's, AMC movie theatre, Bed, bath and Beyond, Rocknies restaurant, Texas Roadhouse, McDonalds, Applebees, Aspen dental, Ashley furniture, Starbucks, Baskin Robbins and several others.
Transportation is offered to all residents of Brooklyn Pointe for any/all doctor's appointments within a 10 mile radius at no charge. Appointments outside of 10 miles, will have a charge if family/friends cannot transport. Also, lunch outtings, shopping, hair appointments, etc are all provided to the residents as well, within the same 10 mile radius.
The executive chef at Brooklyn Pointe has years of experience and has anytime dining for all residents. All three meals have an alternative list, other than the 2 entrees served daily for lunch and dinner so you can always have what you want. Every month, a food committee meeting brings together the residents, families and dietary department to make any and all changes to the menu to cater to the residents' preferences. Polish, Italian, American and other ethnic food is served to meet the population of the area. Homemade, specialty desserts are served every day to enhance the main meals. The executive chef and cooks come out during all meals to make sure everything is prepared to the liking of each, individual resident.
Brooklyn Pointe has exceptional associates who receive ongoing, monthly training to enhance their ability to support all of the needs of the residents. Each care partner, licensed nurse, and manager has a handheld, portable, two-way radio to communicate with each other, along with a pager system that alerts them when a resident uses their call system pendant. Also, all exterior doors are locked 24 hours per day, other than the front entrance, which is locked at 8pm. Awake associates are on duty 24 hours per day to assist with any and all needs.
Communication is key at Brooklyn Pointe. The Executive Director sends out a bi-monthly letter to residents and families informing them of any changes in associates, menus, programming, etc. Every month, there is a resident council, food council, and programming meeting that all residents/families are encouraged to attend. Voicing your likes and concerns keeps everyone in the know, which is best for all. Lastly, there is an open door policy that anytime there is a question or need, please go see the Executive Director or any member of management. And, the concierge is at the front desk to help in any way needed.
Brooklyn Pointe meets and exceeds the state requirement staffing for Ohio. Based on the amount of residents and their needs, is how the community is staffed. Please visit with the Executive Director for an actual number of associates to resident ratio.
Brooklyn Pointe loves pets. There are 2 courtyards for our 4 legged friends to enjoy, along with over 5 acres of land on both sides of the community for exercise and sunbathing. The entire community is surrounded by paved walkways and paved parking lots for exercise as well.
Associates receive initial training to meet and exceed the requirements of health care in Ohio, along with monthly inservices provided by the nurse in charge, Executive Director, Therapy in Motion, Home Health agencies, and several other services we partner with to provide the most informed associates possible.
Brooklyn Pointe has a "wander guard" system for residents who live in Assisted Living. A memory care community is also available at Brooklyn for residents who have memory related issues.
