FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
Our Chef prepares fresh and nutritious food daily for our Residents. We never serve processed items. We gear our Menu choices to what our Residents like and are happy to offer choices for our Residents. We also can accommodate special diets for our Residents if ordered by a Physician. All of our menu choices are low sodium but for our Residents who wish for seasonings we offer Brookdale Signature Seasonings that contain no sodium but can used to enhance the flavor of the foods for our Residents
Brookdale Columbia has various local shopping and Dining choices for our Residents to choose from. Unfortunately, we do not have any in walking distance for our Residents but we can use our Brookdale Bus to transport our Residents to these places
The population here at Brookdale Columbia consists of Residents between the ages of 70 to 98 years young. The average age of our Residents is 75 years young. Our Residents have varied interests and our Activities Programs try to accommodate all of our Residents interests. We offer opportunities to explore new things and we are a Resident based activities Community. Some of our Residents favorite things to do is participate in Social activities. We also offer a Bird Club, Gardening Club, Poetry classes and our newest IPAD technology classes
Brookdale Columbia offers many Activities and Programs geared to Enrich our Residents’ well-being. We offer Physical B-Fit exercises classes 7 days a week as well as several Brain fit programs and Intellectually stimulating activities. We have several Social opportunities each day. We also offer emotional focused groups and Vibrant Spiritual programs that give our Residents purpose
Brookdale Columbia prides itself on the Training all of our associates receive from the first day of employment. Brookdale Columbia also requires all staff to complete monthly learning classes in order to ensure that our staff is properly trained and always up to date on the most current training available offered by Brookdale Senior Living
In addition to our Brookdale Columbia being a secured Community we are also a one story Community. Each of our Resident Apartments offer smoke detectors and sprinkler systems for added safety for all of our Residents. We also offer a secured courtyard for our Residents and Families to enjoy
Brookdale Columbia happily accepts both Dogs and Cats. As we all know they are part of our families too. We have a secured courtyard that our friends can enjoy
In South Carolina, the state’s regulation mandates a minimum of one (1) associate per eight (8) residents between the hours of 7am and 7pm. Between 7pm and 7am, one (1) associate per thirty (30) residents is mandated. Our staffing schedule meets and exceeds these requirements.
Brookdale Columbia is a secured Community. All of the entrances and exits here at Brookdale Columbia are locked for the protection and safety of all of our Residents. Especially for our Residents who may tend to wander. All visitors must be buzzed in and out of our Community in order to help protect all of our Residents
Brookdale Columbia believes that communication between our Clinical Team and Families is of the utmost importance. We are able to communicate openly with our Residents Families by many methods such as Face to Face care meetings with the Clinical Team and Families as well as communication through email, phone and text
Brookdale Columbia offers transportation services for Physician appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays for our Residents. We also use the Brookdale Bus to take our Residents on various outings
