Brookside is a group assisted living facility with a homelike environment, and tasty, nutritious home-cooked meals with each of our senior's dietary needs covered. The facility is comfortable, attractive and welcoming, featuring both semi-private and public areas.
To provide our senior living facility residents with a positive experience and rich life here at Brookside, we conduct an intake evaluation of their interests and needs. We find that this allows us to fine tune your loved one's time here to offer a variety of activities they enjoy. The program includes socializing, games, arts and crafts, and outings to keep our senior citizens happy, involved and actively participating. The grounds include a secure outdoor patio with welcome greenery and shade.
Your loved one will have around the clock care in a secure environment delivered by competent, certified staff. There is always awake care workers ready to attend to needs as they arise 24 hours a day, every day of the week. We keep all medication secured and continual medication management. Regular health monitoring is available. We work closely with the resident's physician in any emergency.

FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
A park is nearby along with a few convenience stores and small shopping malls. There is a beautiful outdoor patio where staff and family members can visit.
Brookside staff inform residents families/guardians via phone/text/email or snail mail, whichever is requested. Family members are encouraged to call the facility at any time to speak with their loved ones. Brookside likes to involve the family members in the care of their loved ones, if the resident so chooses.
All outside doors are alarmed. Handrails and shower chairs in wheel-in bathroom. Walls and doorways are handicapped accessible. Quite, non-busy neighborhood. Interconnected smoke detectors and fire alarm. During virus and illness season, and Covid-19 procedures, staff are required to check for temperatures and screen for illnesses. We will assist residents with vaccinations if requested.
Unfortunately at this time, we do not accept animals due to the allergies that can exist.
We have a balanced menu/diet that provides 3 meals and 2 snacks per day. Each resident has the choice of an ala-carte item as an alternative. We also provide a take out meal every other week as fun alternative. Fresh fruits, vegetables, crackers, granola bars, etc., are available. Diabetic and pureed diets, mechanical soft, soft alternatives. Special dietary restrictions are available and considered. Staff are available to assist during meals with verbal cues or hands on assistance per the needs of each resident.
Our residents participate in movies as a group or independently. Ours activity specialist comes in weekly to provide games/crafts, etc with each resident, both individually and as a group.
Our Activity specialist focuses on memory, sensory, community awareness, music therapy, exercise, drawing, coloring, painting, crafts, interpersonal skills, etc. Our staff are always willing to allow the residents to help cook a meal with them, or to cook independently, with supervision. Our beautician styles/cuts residents hair every 6 weeks if desired. Outside accommodations can also be made. Nail and foot care can also be done for a nominal fee.
Our staff are CBRF (Community Based Residential Facility) certified. On top of this, our staff are required to complete 15 hours of continuing education training each year. This can include Alzheimer's, dementia, fire safety, resident rights, standard precautions, medication management and many more topics.
All outside doors are alarmed. All three shifts are awake shifts. Brookside is an open concept home with a view to each door.
Staff transport residents to and from day programs if residents attend. Transportation accommodations can be made for Dr appts. Special individual outings on a case to case basis.
Staffing ratio is 1 staff to 4 residents during day and 1 staff to 8 residents during the night time.
