Autumn Place of Joplin opened in 1996 and is a retirement community containing maintenance-free residences equipped with emergency response systems for peace of mind. Its certified caregivers value the autonomy and privacy of seniors but are available around the clock to assist as needed with daily tasks such as showering, dressing, appointment scheduling and medication management. Residents can enjoy daily home-cooked meals prepared by kitchen staff who respect dietary preferences. There are daily opportunities for exercise, entertainment and social interactions in the community. Many residents also enjoy making special decorations and party food creations under staff supervision for scheduled themed evenings and on-site holiday celebrations such as Halloween, Easter and Valentine's Day. Resident amenities include scheduled transportation, housekeeping and laundry services. A beautician also visits the community once a week to provide salon services by appointment.

Our Methodology

It’s not what we research, but the way we research that makes AssistedLiving.org stand out. We start by identifying problems and challenges in the senior care industry by gaining insight from conversations with industry professionals, older adults, and those that care for them. Next, our research team led by industry experts apply our data-driven research techniques to understand the magnitude of the challenge and how to overcome it. Finally, we present our findings in easy-to-understand guides and studies and share our actionable results with influencers and caregivers, as well as the general public.
