Located in Brighton on what was once Maxion Farms, St. John’s Meadows supports more than 400 senior residents, combining the scenic beauty of the area with the convenience of a community. With options available for both cottage and apartment living, it allows residents to live a maintenance-free lifestyle in their later years, with staff handling trash and snow removal, lawn care and other chores. The community welcomes pets and even provides in-home veterinary care services. Its Market Cafe and Briarwood Dining Room provide options for dining, with private dining rooms also available. For those who like to stay physically active, there are weekly swim classes at the indoor heated pool, along with exercise classes in the community's fitness room. A full schedule of social, educational and entertainment activities is available for residents, along with numerous multipurpose rooms for clubs.
What Residents are Saying:
The community supports residents who wish to pursue their hobbies and encourages seniors to get involved. One resident says, “We were looking for a community that we could be involved in, not just sit around in our apartment. We also wanted a place that was open to new ideas we could propose - that was important."

Our Methodology

It’s not what we research, but the way we research that makes AssistedLiving.org stand out. We start by identifying problems and challenges in the senior care industry by gaining insight from conversations with industry professionals, older adults, and those that care for them. Next, our research team led by industry experts apply our data-driven research techniques to understand the magnitude of the challenge and how to overcome it. Finally, we present our findings in easy-to-understand guides and studies and share our actionable results with influencers and caregivers, as well as the general public.
