Dogwood Trails is an assisted living community nestled between large oak trees in a peaceful location on the edge of town. Residents live in spacious private rooms with modern amenities and have access to communal dining and common areas to enjoy at their leisure. After-dinner dominoes, bingo evenings and community field trips to interesting local landmarks are regularly scheduled by the lifestyle directors. Throughout the week, residents can participate in group exercise classes, religious services, hobby groups and learning activities such as interactive lectures. Caregivers provide personalized, round-the-clock assistance with personal care tasks such as grooming and medication management. Residents can also receive occupational, physical and speech therapy. An executive chef prepares three restaurant-quality meals per day and menus are multiple-choice to keep mealtimes fresh and exciting for residents. Hospitality services include regular housekeeping and laundry.

FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
All residents are 65 or older and most are 75 and aver
We offer a variety of programs from daily exercise, crafts, devotions, the pet club, church and singing, games, and outings that include a large variety of activities from eating to shopping to sight seeing. Just to name a few.
We sit back off the highway, but are within 5 minutes of downtown historic Palestine that boasts antique shops, the famous Oxbow Bakery, and other fine dining options. there are also several boutiques and shops. We have beautiful grounds that allow residents to get out and walk around our grounds and also courtyard and patio areas.
Our bus is dedicated to transporting our residents to local doctors every Wednesday and Thursday.
Our dining is some of the best! We also offer quite a variety of options if you prefer something that is not on the menu for that particular meal. Our desserts are amazing
All doors are locked and requires a security code to enter or exit the building. Our main entrance at the front is open during business hours of 8-5 but is manned by our receptionist so that we are aware of who is entering.
Here at Dogwood we stay in close contact with the family and develop a personal relationship.. Not only are they kept aware of all medical issues but we also often send pictures of activities they are involved in to their families. We call or text depending on the families preference
We have approximately a 1- 20 ratio of care partners to residents, however many of these residents are independent and require no assistance.
We do accept small dogs and cats. we have 2 courtyards that can be enjoyed as well as our "Doggie Social" that all the dog owners get together for. We also have a small area fenced off so that pets can be let loose to run and play.
Our staff not only receive group training, but also one on one training to handle issues that may arise. We also have our staff undergo the Virtual Dementia Tour to provide a better understanding of condition. Our entire staff is CPR trained as well.
Dogwood has one of the few Certified Memory Care Units in the area. This is a secure area and unlike the Assisted Living side only the staff have the codes in order to enter or exit the area.
