We have a diverse population of people that have a variety of interests. We have residents that enjoy acting in or attending plays, socially connecting through playing or learning games of cards, traveling to popular local culture restaurants or places of interest, relaxing quietly with a good book, participating in committee meetings, continuing to contribute to the community purposefully through charitable outreach, furthering their education by attending technology classes, and just, in general, continuing to pursue life as they’ve always lived it.
Brookdale Colonial Heights offers opportunities for engagement is several ways, built upon the idea that well-being and happiness starts with relationships, connections, and meaningful endeavors. Our larger group programs are those you would find on the engagement calendar and would include examples like entertainment/concerts, Brookdale Signature Programs (“B”Fit, My Life Story, Ageless Spirit, Celebrate Aging Film Festival, BrainFit), iPad Informational Classes, celebrations, special events/fundraisers, travel, etc. We also lend support to resident driven groups formed through common interests, examples include Card Groups (Bridge, Rook, Sequence), Courtyard Gardening Group, Knitting Small Group, Brookdale Colonial Heights Ensemble, etc.
We are nestled in a cul-de-sac just off Fort Henry Drive. We are conveniently located 1.2 miles from Warrior’s Path State Park a waterfront recreation area with walking trails, 1.3 miles from South View Community Park which is a local venue for football and baseball, 4.1 miles from Kingsport Greenbelt that offers 8 miles of walking trails, and 6.3 miles from Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium that offers hiking, walking trails and sports.
Transportation services are offered for engagement purposes, as well as for special needs/requests
Our residents are served their meals in an elegant restaurant atmosphere dinning with table cloths and cloth napkins. Our delicious local southern cuisine is loved by our residents and families alike.
Brookdale in Colonial Heights is a secured community that offers both privacy and the ease of mind of a safe environment for your loved one. Our residents receive call pendants and each apartment is equipped with safety pull-cords for added safety.
We have an open line of communication with our resident’s families. Each family has our Executive Director’s personal cell phone number for continued communication. We offer direct information in care conferences and direct communication from management partners.
We offer 24 hour staffing with a nurse and resident assistances. Our residents are also supported by staff that focus on programs, dining, maintenance, and administrative needs
Brookdale Colonial Heights is a pet friendly community with two community therapy cats.
We provide initial and ongoing training.
