Ecumen Centennial House is a nonprofit senior community near downtown Minneapolis. The community features three interconnected cottage-style buildings that create a cozy, self-enclosed neighborhood. Seniors live in maintenance-free private residences and have access to multiple communal areas, including an outdoor patio and an indoor multipurpose area where movies, classes, group activities and spiritual services occur. An executive chef develops seasonal menus and daily specials that incorporate local, organic ingredients. Three daily meals are served in a communal dining room, although private dining is available, as are in-room meals. Centennial House has 24-hour staffing, and each resident has access to an emergency response system. The community is partners with Bluestone Physicians Group, which provides in-house nurse practitioners and physicians, so seniors don't have to leave the community for medical appointments. On-site dental, hearing, vision and podiatry services are available.
What Residents are Saying:

They took such good care of my wife--I am forever indebted, from the top managers to the cooks and house cleaners, I knew them all." Another resident's relative comments, "The compassion and care was exceptional."

Our Methodology

It’s not what we research, but the way we research that makes AssistedLiving.org stand out. We start by identifying problems and challenges in the senior care industry by gaining insight from conversations with industry professionals, older adults, and those that care for them. Next, our research team led by industry experts apply our data-driven research techniques to understand the magnitude of the challenge and how to overcome it. Finally, we present our findings in easy-to-understand guides and studies and share our actionable results with influencers and caregivers, as well as the general public.
