Elders Inn offers assisted living services on a more intimate scale than many facilities with similar resources. Assisted living residents receive:
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day
In-house caf? serves Peets coffee and fresh baked snacks every morning and afternoon
2 loads of personal laundry per week
Weekly housekeeping
Weekly linen changes
Local phone service
Basic cable television service
Basic transportation, including round trip in Alameda each billing cycle
Activity program within the facility and planned excursions outside of the facility
Supervision and monitoring of activities of daily living
Twice weekly showers
Assistance with dressing and grooming morning and night
Inventory and ordering of medications
Assistance with the taking of prescribed medications
Observation, care, and supervision as required by regulatory agencies
The Garden Neighborhood of Elders Inn was specially designed to incorporate a delayed egress area for those suffering from Dementia or Alzheimers disease. Here we offer a unique activity calendar, special programs, and an enhanced level of care catering to the special requirements of those in need of memory care. The Garden Neighborhood is pet friendly and has dedicated care staff 24 hours a day, a private garden, and a delayed egress entry to help prevent wandering. Residents here receive:

FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
We use a program called Lifeloop to keep families informed of activities, community updates, and events. Our nurses inform Family members and Medical Professionals on any changes in health and wellbeing.
We have a wander management system as well as a delayed egress specialty memory care area.
We are located in the historic Webster business district in Alameda. There are many great restaurants, coffee shops, retail stores, and the Pacific Pinball Museum.
Our staff receive annual training on Elder Abuse, Memory Care activities, transfer abilities, first aide, dementia care, assistance with ADLS, food safety, Hospice care, inclusivity with aging population, and customer service among many other inservices. We have Physical and Occupational therapist who work with our caregivers when specific care training is required to enhance the patient centered care for our residents.
We have a facility vehicle that can provide transport to medical appointments or personal appointments. We are able to transport residents who are ambulatory or wheelchair bound. Residents or family members can schedule upcoming transportation appointments with the front desk or the administrator.

Elders Inn is designed for different level of care and the ratios depend on the neighborhood. Our Garden Neighborhood care giver ration is 1 to 6 from 6am-9pm and 1 to 12 from 9pm-6am. Our Courtyard Neighborhood direct caregiver ratio is 1 to 8. These ratios do not include our nurses or Med Aides. We have a Med Aide on 24 7 days a week, and an LVN from 8-4:30 daily.
Our community has locked gate and doors and require all guests to be buzzed in by our staff. We have security cameras monitoring the building. Our building has many fire safety features including fire sprinklers, fire doors, smoke and CO detectors, a fire panel that is professionally monitored, We have a emergency call system where all residents have pull cords in the restroom and pendants to call staff for help.
Our residents ages range from 75 to 101, we have a wide variety of activities including arts and crafts, daily exercise, gardening, and live music everyday. We also have accompanied outings to the local Farmers Market, and trips to restaurants. Residents also enjoy spending time in our cafe and our tranquil patios, which are great spaces for family's and friends to visit.
Yes, we allow residents to bring their pets including small dogs and cats. Pets must be current on all their required vaccines and be well behaved. Cats must be litter box trained, dogs must be leash trained and use the bathroom on their walks.
We have 3 dining rooms at the Elders Inn. We offer family style dining and we are able to provide special diets for residents including: low sodium, heart healthy, diabetic diet, puree, chopped, mechanical soft, nectar thick liquids, and honey thick liquids.
We have a full activity program 7 days a week to give variety of engaging activities to our residents. These include arts and crafts, exercise classes hosted by our group exercise trainers, daily live music. We have a special program we call the world tour, and every month we visit a new country or region in the world and design special activities for that area, such as history of the region, food tastings, and arts and crafts as well.

We are not affiliated with any particular hospital, but work with all hospitals in our area if a resident needs emergency care. If a resident has to go to the hospital or SNF we stay in constant contact with resident, their DPOA, their primary physician, and hospital staff to stay up to date with any changes in condition and readmission plans.
